Executive Order Category Rationale
Justification
This executive order is explicitly and comprehensively focused on immigration and border security matters. The order's stated purpose is to end what it characterizes as "a large-scale invasion" of "illegal aliens" and to "secure the borders of our Nation." The substantive provisions directly address core immigration policy components including: construction of physical barriers at the southern border, detention of aliens apprehended for immigration violations, termination of "catch-and-release" policies, resumption of Migrant Protection Protocols, cessation of the CBP One application for parole, and removal of aliens who enter unlawfully. Every operational section (3-11) implements specific immigration enforcement mechanisms, border control measures, or alien processing procedures under the Immigration and Nationality Act.
